The Flyboard w/video

Source: Zapata Racing
Tired of your same old jet-ski routine?  Check out what those crazy Frenchmen at Zapata Racing have cooked up for your aquatic pleasure.  The Flyboard is part hoverboard and part wakeboard; and together, all Awesome.  The whole assembly quickly bolts to your PWC; all told 8 bolts and about 15-20 minutes of setup time and your are ready to hover high above the water.  The basic Flyboard setup will set you back a cool $6495 (mere change compared to the Jetlev’s price tag).  With the basic Flyboard the spotter sitting on the PWC is responsible for the thrust at your board.  There is an option ($1850) to add independent controls for the board rider to maintain complete control.  Add in the $350 charge for the operator’s course and you are all in somewhere around $8695; that doesn’t include the cost of the Iron Man costume you’ll want for your first test flight.

Check out a video of Transligic’s Bradley Hasemeyer doing his best Tony Stark impersonation after the jump.  If you watch the whole video there are some great outtakes at the end.
