Who would have thought water at a boat show would have
caused such a stoppage? The 50th
anniversary opening of the Atlanta Boat show was delayed by four hours
yesterday because one of the show’s highlight features malfunctioned. Team and professional wakeboarders were going
to showcase their skills in a 100,000 gallon wake park erected inside the Georgia
World Congress Center. The collapsed
tank spilled most of the 100,000 gallons all over one of the exhibit floors during a
practice session earlier that morning.
No injuries or damage were reported (although if you follow the video
closely at around 1:41 in, there appears to be two wake boats knocked from
their pedestals). The show’s website
reports that the wake park attraction will remain closed, but the riders will
be on site to meet and greet any attendees.
Get out of the house this weekend and support your local boat show.
