News: Nautique to Debut 100% Electric Wakeboard Boat at Detroit Boat Show w/video
Super Air Nautique 230
About a year ago Nautique revealed their prototype all electric ski boat, the Ski Nautique E.Through their same partners, LTS marine, they have developed and refined that technology and put it into a wakeboard boat. The Super Air Nautique 230 E will be revealed at this year’s Detroit Boat Show on February 11-19.The 230 E will feature a similar dual motor design for a total output of 160kW (215 HP).The two motors will be fed through a transfer case to send power the prop shaft, all this to produce that classic Nautique wake. The lithium ion batteries have an available capacity of 78kW-hrs.While that doesn’t translate into a very extensive wake session, it is at least on par with current market competitors. At least you can reassure yourself you are doing something good for the planet as you spend most of your day recharging. I think I'd be feeling more green with envy as I head back to the dock for another recharge.
Check out the video of the Ski Nautique E after the jump.

Sweet ski boat and the famous Nautique name! The Epic-Translogic team seem to have a little better charge time to run time ratio though. I like the idea that boats are starting to move to the electric motors providing a much better "hole shot" to get up on plane. I was impressed by how quickly this boat went up to plane in the video. Afraid to even research the current price tag for this technology though.

ReplyDeleteYeah, they aren't cheap. I found a price for the Epic at about $100,000.
